Bio
I started out in China (as many do) as an English teacher. With proof of my high school graduation and university degree, the government was very happy to give me an ID card that said I was a foreign expert. As a fresh graduate, it felt great to have somebody to be so confident of my ability. Now I work for an English textbook company (in China), though, and I am simply an alien and not an expert. This has been a strange realisation for me because we all assume that we know our mother tongues fairly well. However, when I realised that I actually don't know my mother tongue very well, it made me think that maybe I really don't know so much at all. And now that I'm back in the USA, it hasn't gotten any better.
